Taking a short break from filming Camp Rock 2, Joe Jonas makes a trip back to Beverly Hills to shop around for a new home on Saturday afternoon (September 26).
The 20-year-old musician/actor recently caught up with JJJ and exclusively revealed the mystery behind Valentine’s Day and whether he would be starring opposite Jennifer Garner and Taylor Lautner.
He shared, “I actually went for the audition and it was looking really good, but scheduling just wasn’t working out. They were filming in the summer and we [Jonas Brothers] were touring during the summer. We figured it out on our part but it was just difficult because they’re working with so many superstars, that scheduling is really hard to adjust than a normal film like if it was just me and a few other people.”
Joe continued, “It’s Anne Hathaway and all these other big stars that star in that movie and they have to shift schedules around. I think we’re going to try and do something for that, but it all depends on schedules.”

I bet he was excited to do the movie. Such a shame that he couldn’t do it because of their hectic schedule. But I’m sure other opportunities are coming his way. Good luck on his house hunting !

These “little Joe is growing up” comments make me laugh since he’s older than 90% of his fans. I’ve seen so many comments today wondering if he’s looking for a house for the whole family. Some even thought he was buying a place for Kevin and Danielle as a wedding gift! Why is it so hard to believe and accept that a grown man wants to move out on his own? This is not directed at anyone here. It’s just that a lot of fans, especially the younger ones, are still clinging to the 16 year old Joehawk-wearing Joe and refuse to accept that he’s an adult. When he turned 20 last month, the TJ boards were full of girls practically in tears. I guess I just don’t understand.

You know I’m amazed that sometimes the Jonas Brother’s so-called “fans” are much worst than the so-called critics out there.
These “fans” have to read so much into things and turn and twist everything around.
Joe was asked to audtion for whatever little part it was. With a huge cast with “big name” celebs, the director/producer wouldn’t just give it to someone who has no talent.
Joe is a good actor. What you see on Jonas is just a portion of what I’m sure he can do. No one know’s what Joe’s full acting potential is. Remember Joe (and yes Nick) did act on Broadway. They don’t give those roles to just anyone.
I think that it is great that Gary Marshall and co. thought he was worth the effort to get him to come in for an audition.
I believe there could be an issue w/ timing. Remember when doing a movie, you only get so long to film. With his busy schedule + I’m sure having to schedule around the “experience, actual actors” there would be an issue.
It is a HUGE cast, so I’m sure there were a lot of schedule conflicts. Joe’s part wouldn’t have been a major role, so they wouldn’t have tried as hard to work w/ his schedule and etc.
Why must everything these guys do or don’t do become a big conspiracy etc.

a-listers?? you do realise the ONLY a-list actor in the entire movie
is anne hatheaway. all the other actors, ie: ashton kutcher, emma roberts, jennifer garner (not counting juno), and taylor lautner have only gotten ripped to shreds by critics for their past movie roles.
and taylor swift may be an a-list singer, but as an actress she’s much worse than joe.
besides, the producers asked him to audition. if they had the same opinion as you they obviously would not have done that.

carly – to be fair, there are alot of big names in that movie, not just Anne Hatheaway. Julia Roberts, Jamie Foxx, Bradley Cooper to name a few more.
But again, Joe, just like Taylor Swift and Lautner, would have just had a cameo. But I agree with Megan – Joe would not have gotten the audition if the producers/directors didn’t think he was worthy. I’m proud that he at least had a chance at this movie, and look forward to all of the other roles that will probably be coming his way. :)

Why does it always come down to a Kevin vs Joe & Nick situation.
First off, they are ALL great guys. Yes, everyone has their favorite. Mine is Joe, but I still like Kevin and Nick.
I don’t get why people think one brother(s) is attracitve and the other one(s) isn’t. They are all good looking young men. Do they have differnt looks yes they do and they also have different personalities. That is what makes them great.
The media has a lot to blame for this as well as the fans. The media likes to compare them and to put them against each other and make the “fans” choose.
The question should be asked, “Do you like the Jonas Brothers”. Answer, Yes (I hope). I’m tired of this who’s your favorite, which one is cuter.
These guys, know this goes on and they don’t like it. Remeber the “No Brother Left Behind” mention on a MTV interview.
Kevin is getting married b/c he has found the “one” that he wants to spend the rest of his life with. For that everyone, even those that don’t “like” him, should be happy for him.
He’s done something that many of us are still looking for. The fact that people (media and fans) are so obsessed w/ these guys “love” lives is just crazy.
The fact that not that “many” people (media/fans) were not interested in Kevin’s relationship I think was actually a good thing.
You didn’t see the media all over them when they were together like you did w/ Nick and Joe. Yes, I know one of the main reasons is b/c Danielle isn’t famous, but still I think that it was a big help.
If you look at a lot of the marriages in hollywood that lasted for a very long time… Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn etc is b/c the media doesn’t hound them like they do the younger stars etc.
I think that w/ Kevin and Danielle they are just Kevin and Dani. They are the same 2 people that met on the beach and fell in love.
I for one am happy for them and hope they have a loving/lasting marriage. I hope one day that Joe and Nick both find the same happiness that Kevin has found.
I think that Kevin is the lucky one for not having his relationship hounded on and photographed every second together.

Guys…I’ve been living w/ roommates since 18 years old. It’s college life. And Joe is old enough. Kevin is adorable, but also, Kevin is a grown man…how many are going to yell KEVIN IS SO CUTE old-knows how many times a day? Adults (ehm, mature adults) know how to control themselves..and they should. Kevin is definitely an adults, more so now than ever.
I’m a HUGE fan of all the boys (even if I happen to have a crush on Joe), I love them all. I’m 23…and they all are growing up. the teen-young adult age isn’t easy so they’re still going to try to find themselves…not only in their business industry but also in their personal lives.
Just chill and let them be. :)

What I just find weird about Joe looking for a home is the timing. Why now? They’re in Canada for a couple of more weeks then resume touring until the end of November, at least. Come December, it’s the holidays and I’ll assume the Jonases will all be in Texas.

i wonder if joe plans on moving out by himself or rooming with friends. i’m dorming now, but i pretty much decided that when i graduate in a couple of years, i’ll probably move out into a place with a couple of friends. it just seems like a smoother transition as oppose to getting my own house and everything. even though i liked taylor’s idea of getting a condo. something that’s your own but not quite ‘house.’ good for him.

I think it’s something you just “have a feel for” when you move a lot. You’re used to it. I moved a lot. My mom and I sometimes will still go apartment/house hunting and dream about a “perfect house” one day.

No one hires a real estate agent if they are not serious about buying a place. There are contracts involved. You can go to open houses, but homes in the price range that Joe would be looking in do not do the open house thing. Those homes show by appointment only to serious buyers. It makes sense that if Joe wants to be doing movies next year, he would need a place in LA. The house that the family has in Bel Air is too big for one person, and the rest of the family seems pretty fixed in Dallas. That Bel Air house was only leased anyway.
LOL Andi – we live in a big neighborhood and my mom and I would check out the houses of the neighbors we didn’t know when they went on the market. Just because we were nosy.

Megan – Thank you! I’m fully behind everything you said. Much as I enjoy hearing things about Kevin and Dani, it’s only fun when it comes from them, with whatever they’re (or him, mostly) comfortable sharing. I absolutely HATE it when magazines are obsessed with following a certain celebrity’s relationship…half the time, I think they’re part of the problem as to why so many of them don’t stay together, because they can never have a minute to just work things out between themselves. I’m not dismissing the fact that they’re people too, and yes, their own actions have something to do with it (because I really think most of them need serious help…honestly, the number of hollywood marriages that only last a couple years is entirely disgusting), but I do think that they can never work on these in peace is part of the problem. You’re completely right…the celebrity marriages that last tend to be the ones that are left alone. So thank you, for making that point.
Otherwise, side note: I just have to put this in here because I’m a fan of his (partly because his personal life is respectable), you left Michael J. Fox off your list…he and Tracy have been married 21 years now.

Jerseygirl – Being surrounded by New England fans…isn’t is awful? Between the ’04 WS and the ’02 superbowl (Rams lost to the Patriots…not a good day), I can hardly take it anymore. So…congrats to you and the Yankees on the division win…I’m happy for you as well (unless, of course, it ends up a Cardinals / Yankees series).
On the other hand, though…my dislike of the Patriots means that ever since that EPIC Giants superbowl win in ’08, I’ve been a huge fan of them (I don’t feel bad splitting my loyalties when it comes to football since the Rams haven’t necessarily played so well in recent years)…so, GO GIANTS!!!

They only own 2 family houses (3 if you include the one in New Jersey) They mainly live in the one in Dallas but if they have to be in LA they stay there. Kevin and Danielle seem to have their own house in NJ so Kev has 1. Joe is just LOOKING. He didn’t buy anything (yet). I wouldn’t call that alot of houses (yes, that would be alot for the average person, but they don’t live average lives). To say that they’re “getting too big for themselves” was a very (forgive me) dumb statement in my opinion. I don’t think the number of houses you own define the type of person yo are, but thats just me.
Actually, they don’t own a house in L.A. anymore. They sold that house and leased a house while they were in town the first part of the year, filming and recording.
Heather – I must say it’s been MUCH more bearable being a Yankee/Giant fan in New England these past few years.
And yes, I was very obnoxious to my friends and neighbors when the Giants got that Super Bowl two years ago. Good times. :D
