The Jonas Brothers have No. 1 albums, their own Disney TV show, sold-out concerts around the world and shrieking fans in every city.

But it didn’t happen overnight.

In fact, when their current tour rolls into Fresno on Wednesday, it will mark a rise from wannabes to superstars for brothers Kevin, 21, Joe, 19, and Nick, 16.

When they first performed in Fresno, they were a no-name brother band playing at a junior high school.
Then they played at The Big Fresno Fair and later opened for Miley Cyrus at Save Mart Center.

Now they’re back to headline Fresno’s biggest stage.

As they prepped for the tour, all three Jonas Brothers participated in a conference call to talk about their evolution, staying relevant, the staging for their concert and Beatlemania.

Kevin on progressing from small venues to big arenas:

“Moving from small venues to where we are today goes right back to our fans. Without them, we wouldn’t be anywhere. They’re the ones that have stuck around through everything. We can’t believe that they’re still here and continuing to grow and continuing to come see the shows, and it’s an amazing, amazing, amazing thing.”

Nick on the stage set-up for the current tour:

“The tour will be in-the-round. It’s very exciting for us. We’ve always talked about wanting to do a tour like that, and this has been our first opportunity to do it. It’s a way for us to really connect with our fans, something that’s very important and personal to all of us. There are more front row seats now, and there’s more of a real genuine connection with each and every person in the arena.”

Joe on boy bands having a limited shelf-life:

Joe: “What people don’t really understand is that we secretly are over the age of 40, so we’ve already lived through our shelf-life-time, so we’re just going back and trying to reinvent ourselves. In all seriousness, we are just having fun with what we do and playing music.”

Nick on the challenge of meeting fans:

“We’ve been blessed with some really great exposure. Along with that comes more fans and more amazing people that we’re able to experience this journey with. So we’re finding new ways to meet our fans. They mean the world to us, and so we’re looking forward to this summer.

“Also, our friends Honor Society are coming out and you never know who might be in the lobby of the arena in order to meet the fans. So, be looking out for them, too.”

Kevin on his favorite signs that fans brings to concerts:

“We’ve seen some really funny ones. I think I like the ones that say how many miles they drove to come to the concert. Those are always really cool. Or I flew half way around the world or whatever. I’m from Australia.”

Nick on the band’s popularity being compared to Beatlemania:

“I think the Beatles are the Beatles and no one can touch that. We’re honored that some people say that, but for us, we’re just trying to be ourselves and just trying to really be inspired by a lot of things. You know artists like the Beatles, Elvis Costello, Johnny Cash, Prince and just continue to learn and have fun.”

Kevin on staying relevant in an ever-changing music industry:

“You think about that every day as an artist in this generation. You look back on it, and just 10-15 years ago, Britney Spears and the ‘N Syncs of the world were selling a million records in the first day of their album release and they were selling arenas out.

“We’re on an arena tour, but no one’s selling 10 million records anymore. The Internet has taken a very huge turn in music, but, of course, I think everyone wants to take new steps toward new ideas and new technologies that will allow music to get there, and get out there first.

“We released an album a year the past four years now … Just always continually making new music and continuing to put out music is very key in a world that moves so quickly.”

Nick on the band getting skewered in an episode of “South Park:”

“I think we always like to be open to making fun of ourselves. We’ll be the first to. We did it on ‘SNL’ and it was kind of fun. But I think for us we’re so focused on what we’re doing with this tour and our album and everything that we didn’t have too much time to see it.”

Nick on staying grounded:

“It’s about the family base. We’ve made that rule No. 1 from day one, making sure that the family comes first and that we focus on that. That’s the priority. Also we live by the rule, ‘We live life if it’s at the top like we’re at the bottom,’ which basically means stay humble and keep the right attitude.”

  1. “What people don’t really understand is that we secretly are over the age of 40.”

    Hahaha! Oh, Joe…

  2. “What people don’t really understand is that we secretly are over the age of 40, so we’ve already lived through our shelf-life-time, so we’re just going back and trying to reinvent ourselves.”

And, Joe, this is why we love you.

  3. Joe looks pretty good at 40 =P

    Nice interview!

  4. yea i realize this interview has old information in it…but it was just posted today. So that is why i posted it. plus their isn’t much going on so i figured at least I was giving you something to read.

  5. Lmao!
Yeah! They all look great at 40! Lol.

I hope people outside of the fan base DO realize that they don’t label themselves as the “Next Beatles”. No way! They even said “No on can touch that”. Quoted, right there. So, I don’t understand why the haters always bring that up, when they never claimed to be anywhere close to the Beatles …

And about South Park … I hope other people realize they laugh at themselves too …

  6. I love JB!

    :)
    Courtney.

  7. Them being 40 is like the SNL skit ;D Thanks Nick for bringing it up haha
I agree, it’s good that they don’t think of themselves as “the next Beatles” I’ve gotten into fights with my dad about that. He’s always complaining “What, no one can ever be as big as the Beatles.” It’s frustrating trying to tell him, they don’t think of themselves that way, it’s other people’s perspective, go try and change their minds. :P
It’s good that they laugh at themselves. That they’re not taking anything to heart. Otherwise that would probably be their biggest struggle.

  8. I found the South Park episode hilarious. But then again…I just love South Park <3

  9. “What people don’t really understand is that we secretly are over the age of 40, so we’ve already lived through our shelf-life-time, so we’re just going back and trying to reinvent ourselves” haha gotta love Joe <3

  10. Kevin is right, the internet has changed the music industry. With illegal downloads and Itunes, you really dont have to buy a cd in the store anymore if you dont want to. Thats pretty awful in my book

  11. The last thing Nick said has definitely changed, just pointing that out. They can’t honestly say they’ve stayed as “grounded” as when they did starting out.

  12. ASHLEY:
Well no one whos a star is as grounded as before they were a star, but compared to most stars, the Jonas Brothers are realy grounded, yes they live in a huge house, yes they are rich, but besides that they act like normal, christian, famuly oriented people.

  13. Ahsley

    Nick has not changed
    They are still staying grounded

  14. I agree with Lauren

  15. Thank u Lin

  16. love these guys, they’re so genuine… can’t wait to see them in San Jose! :D

  17. All I can say is that I disagree. They don’t act like they did. And I never brought their money into this? And rarely do I ever see them express their faith, only through prayer before concerts. I just think they’ve changed in general, and I prefer the old Jonas Brothers, that’s all.

  18. Ahsley

    u r 100% wrong and stupid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  19. ASHLEY:
Umm did u hear, yesterday they had a BIBLE STUDY with Jordin Sparks and someone else and they organized it
You must be thinking of some other Jonas Brothers if u think they dont express their faith!
    They havent changed

  20. Ashley – “They don’t act like they did” and “I prefer the old Jonas Brothers”? Really? First of all, they are now a few years older than when they started out. Two of them are adults, so no they are not going to act like the same crazy adolescents they USED to be. Stop looking at it like fame and money has changed them. They’re maturing. I still think the core of who they are as people has not changed at all.

  21. No, I didn’t hear that. But really, if you look at what a growing Christian is, I’m not sure whether I can categorize them. Of course, I don’t personally know them, so it’s not like I’m 100% sure. But Christians are supposed to willingly express their faith with their friends, family and any others they have the opportunity to. They always seem to avoid talking about it in interviews or if they’re asked about it. It’s not like it’s something to be ashamed of. And I know they do with their family and friends, but with their fans?

And Lauren, that was real mature, I’m so happy you can show us how much of a point you make with that comment. You’re really helping your case ;)

  22. jerseygirl – I get where you’re coming from with them maturing as people, and I’m not disagreeing. I just think if they want to be respected as normal, they should act like it? I hesitate to admit because I know everyone’s going to really bite at me for that, but that’s my opinion and you can think otherwise, just don’t insult me for what I think.

  23. Ahsley

none of them have changed at all

and they do it with their fans

  24. I enjoyed this article. Really great. =)

  25. ASHLEY:
You know that some fans of theres arent christian and myabe they would offeneded if the Jonas Brothers expressed their fatih the the media? The Jonas Brothers have the right to keep things to their selves and i learned in church that those who pray quietly get more respect than those who openly worship. Bye that i mean more respect from God cause they dont over worship for attention. Ok now im going al biblical about this but i think their being great christian boys.
But i wont insult you cause everyone has their own opinion

  26. oh and they wear purity rings, i think thats expressing ur faith

  27. Lauren, you can keep being blunt about it, but do you have a reasoning? Or are you just going to state the other side’s obvious opinion? When have they ever shown that with their fans? I honestly can’t remember.

It’s not like I don’t have my reasons, I already explained. And I have more, but I fear I’d insult too many of you to the point where this will be turned into oceanup, and apparently the site doesn’t want that, so I’ll keep those reasons to myself.

  28. Ahsley

they don’t let fame & money go to their head

they donate most their money to charity

    and I think u r a jonas hater

  29. Ashley, I strongly disagree. They are musicians, by THEIR choice they don’t like to mix faith and music together often. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. They pray before they go out to do a concert, they just recently brought in a minister. They haven’t changed a bit in my mind. They are now OLDER, why should they be forced to act the same. I know I sure don’t act like I did 3 years ago, why should they? Not to mention the fact that both Kevin and Joe are now ADULTS. The are two different types of Christians. One is the sream your religion and beliefs from the roof-top type. The second is don’t tell if your not asked and live your life like you believe God would want you to. They are the second in my opinion. One is NOT better than the other, simply different. No it’s certainly not something to be asked about. The point is that they have answered the questions about their purity rings and faith before. They’re tired, everyone knows what the rings stand for and what their faith is. It’s repetitive and ignorant to continue to ask it and I’m sure you get tired of talking about out it when you aren’t a minister, you’re a musician. They do act COMPLETELY normal. From what I’ve seen, they have a much former grasp on reality than half of the teenagers in America.

    Okay, rant over. -_-.

  30. It’s not like I’m saying “let’s go to our concerts and change it into a church session.” I’m saying don’t be ashamed to admit to it. And offend fans? Please, they should be willing to express it, be brave. I never said for attention. Do you think that people who aren’t afraid to show their love for God are just trying to get attention? Believe me, most of the attention will be negative. They shouldn’t have precautions about that. Share it with the people you love. They have the great opportunity to do so with thousands of girls, why shouldn’t they?

I totally agree on the purity rings though! :D

  31. There are some things that some people prefer to keep to themselves about. Can you explain to me WHAT or WHY you think that is wrong?

  32. Jacob, I’ve already slammed just about everything in the “rant” with my reasonings, just go back and read it. You basically just repeated what everyone else did…so.

HA. Lauren, you are making my day with these crazy accusations. Jonas hater? That’s hilarious. I’m simply stating my opinion with my logics and all you’re doing is stating the obvious while trying to be bring me down, but I’m kind of just laughing here.

  33. WHY would you keep your faith to yourself?! The only reason I can think of is because of the fear to be insulted or brought down. But in the end, what matters is your relationship with God. They should cease the opportunity while they can. : )

  34. You still have not gave me a satisfactory answer. If you have, I wouldn’t have asked again ;). Your saying that should be open with their fans about it. What if they don’t want to? WHAT is wrong with that?

  35. Since when do you have to share your faith with other to have a relationship with God? I’ve went to church about 5 times in my entire life. That doesn’t mean I don’t have a strong relationship to God. A church is a building, nothing more. God is in there, but God is everywhere :).

  36. I think to them, being Christians is a part of their personal lives. They always say in interviews “We’re here to focus on the music/tour.” So it’s totally fine if they don’t want to talk about.

And I’m not saying that being religious is something to be ashamed of, but they said very little about their purity rings and look what happened. Everybody talks about it or makes fun of them. It’s better this way.

  37. Okay, well then though cookie to you. Get over yourself and look at the logics. If they don’t want to, then they’re not proving themselves, that’s what. I already explained it in the comment above, would you pay attention. And if that doesn’t satisfy you, then you’re simply ignoring the fact.

“The only reason I can think of is because of the fear to be insulted or brought down. But in the end, what matters is your relationship with God. They should cease the opportunity while they can. : )”

  38. Seriously, Ashley; I’m a college student and everyone knows that everyone wants to be treat respectfully. Would you like it if someone forced a religion down your throat that you didn’t believe in? How comfortable would you be if someone kept talking about a “higher being” and certain faith beliefs that you just don’t relate to? I have an Atheist friend…but she’s one of the sweetest people I have ever met…and she gets so intimated and sad of “certain Christians/Catholics” that just talk to her about “the word of God” that it gets to a point that she would cry right there. It’s not fair. I respect her decision and God and Jesus Christ, would want me (I HOPE) to respect her AS A HUMAN BEING as it says in The Bible. If it’s to be than in time she might change her religious ways…but I’m not going to force my friend to be something she’s not. Like Jesus Christ said so himself; “Let your children come to me”…don’t force religion on anyone. It’s so immature. You can discuss it, but don’t claim one is “better” than another. It can be better for you…but everyone has an opinion and different belief systems…Just be humane.

  39. Couldn’t agree more Charlotte.

  40. Jacob- Same here. Although I want to try to get closer to God, but it’s kind of tough, ya know?

    BTW, nice rants! :D

  41. Charlotte, I know what you’re saying. But again, if they have the opportunity, then I don’t see why they don’t snatch it up. If I were them, I’d love to do that. They’ve already made a point about their rings, so I don’t see any problem with what they did there.

  42. You know i dont tell everyone im a christian but that doesnt mean im not a good one!
Ok i dont want to fight you…..just please dont critisize them if u do like them

  43. Ashley, your assumptions are wrong and ignorant. I just went to a concert where Nick talked about God during his ALBL speech, so dont even say they dont admit to it. Thats complete and utter bull.

  44. OMG Ashely! I dont know HOW your gonna manage when Kevin and Danielle are finally married. That will be a HUGE change with ramifications of a “certain nature” that will unsettle you a lot if you dont accept change well

  45. Also i dont think theyre braggers

  46. I agree, forcing religion is pure stupidity. You can’t teach anyone a damn thing if their not listening. God is the one who judges, not us.

What do you mean they are not proving themselves? They love God, that’s ALL that matters. It doesn’t matter if they don’t tell everyone what they believe in. That is pure close-mindedness.

  47. Thank you Nikki. I think everyone can get closer to God. It’s a life-long journey and most of us are only at the beginning.

  48. Jasmine –
I don’t really care if you’re in college? So what, I’m a Junior in high school, you think because of that I don’t possess nearly as much knowledge as you on the matter? And again, repeating myself, but I never said shove it down your throat, I just said give opportunities to those who haven’t been exposed yet.

And I never said discriminate people. You’re definitely putting words in my mouth. AGAIN: Give an opportunity and expose those who aren’t aware. Not completely destroy other religions. A little overdramatic.

  49. As far as I’m concerned, it doesn’t matter to me that the Jonas Brothers don’t talk about their religion. It’s the way they LIVE their life that I admire. So many people talk the talk; not many actually walk the walk. These guys do. I don’t need it shoved in my face though. I want to hear them talk about their music and any other projects they have going on. I believe that’s all they owe us.

And really people – stop calling someone stupid or a hater just because they have an opinion that is different from your own – even if THAT opinion is wrong. ;)

  50. Ahsley

    u r a jonas hater, u just won’t admit it

  51. …I don’t wear a purity ring, and I’m a 23, Hispanic, hot chick who doesn’t go to church… doesn’t mean that I’m not a virgin or don’t consider myself “Christian w/ a Catholic birthright”.

I TELL others want they want to know. Like when a new friend finds out for the first time that you’re a virgin they ask…but they don’t disrespect you…just like you should tell respect those who decided not to save for marriage.

  52. All I was saying to all of you who are saying I’m this wrong, big cheat is…

“I never said shove it down your throat, I just said give opportunities to those who haven’t been exposed yet.”

That’s all I was getting across. Everyone stop putting words in my mouth and making me look like some horrible Jonas hater. That’s all I was saying. ^^^

  53. jerseygirl, standing applause, haha. You just said what I’ve been trying to get out.

  54. Pointing out, an opinion can’t be wrong. A fact can.

  55. Why SHOULD they have to. WHY should they be the ones that have to expose those people that haven’t been exposed to God. Sure it’s great to do so but they shouldn’t be forced to do so. As said above, I admire the way they live not talk.

  56. …My name isn’t Jasmine–it’s Jeanie. Wrong Aladdin character sweetheart.

And what I meant to finish there was that I’m in college and it’s a different SETTING… There’s a “free speech lawn” where “Those who Preach” could say and yell their words of Christ. Some people stop by and talk to them, civilly, but other times it’s a big mess b/c of ignorance from both sides–usually the first from the “Preaches”..want to know why? BECAUSE THEY MAKE ASSUMPTIONS.

I, along with countless others, was accused of going to hell for wearing a lower-cut shirt… AND HE DIDN’T KNOW ME! ASSUMPTIONS is what hurts people.

  57. They should because they have the opportunity. Tell me why they SHOULDN’T.

  58. Jacob- No problem. :)

  59. Nick uses his diabetes to his advantage and helps other people get through it. He even gives money to charities. And haters STILL think that he ‘never shuts up’ and ‘forces it down peoples throats’. Haters grab on to anything they can.

I’m an athiest myself, I just don’t believe in that stuff. But I think it’s cool how they’re Christians and stay true to themself. They’re famous and doing what they do because of their music. Nothing else.

    Can we drop this? Please?

  60. Jeanie, okay? I don’t really see how this pertains to the subject. And what’s up with the pet name? Haha, kind of makes me giggle. I’m not assuming anything about them, I’m telling what I don’t see from them. But my words of wisdom that I constantly need to remind everyone hating on me just for bravely going against what everyone else is saying is…

“I never said shove it down your throat, I just said give opportunities to those who haven’t been exposed yet.”

  61. Jacob – why thank you. Thank you very much. I’m here all period. (see what I did there? ;))

Ashley – I was just trying to lighten things up. Bottom line, it’s not the Jonas Brothers’ responsibility to enlighten or influence anyone in regards to religion. They don’t need to expose anyone to their beliefs. It’s a private matter – case closed. And they didn’t make issues out of the purity rings. They chose to wear them; when the media found out them, it was the MEDIA who blew it up. I still say to this day the guys wish that issue never came up – not because they’re embarassed; just because it’s nobody’s business and it takes the focus off of what they are really about – three brothers making music.

  62. Jacob sad it right; why are they responsible for bringing people closer to God? They make pop/rock music–they say so themselves. If people want to be closer to God in connection by Christian or Gospel music. It is up to THE INDIVIDUAL themselves if they want to know more about another person’s faith if they have questions. People need to start reading a book again. -_-’

  63. Ashley, it’s fairly simple. It’s not their job or personal duties to bring anyone closer to God. That depends on the person. Religion is a personal matter, I don’t see why people need to get involved in it.

I’m not hating on you at all, I’m pointing out what I believe are major flaws in your opinion on the matter. Don’t hate on others just because most of us have similar opinions, nothing wrong with that.

  64. Also; look at how many fans the Jonas Brothers made w/in just a course of 2 years?! I don’t think they want “Christianity” to be a fad…they don’t want to be responsible of someone not being able to “find their way” the right way-for themselves. I can’t imagine how the Jonas Brothers would take it if they found out some of their fans converted to took a stronger road later to find out they didn’t “grow themselves” into that road. It’s all about finding a jounry w/in yourself-that’s religion…not doing what someone else is.

  65. I’m not sure why religion is supposed to be a part of their public personalities. They make music, they are not preachers.

  66. They’ll never know if they’re not exposed. And I don’t see what makes them an excuse to God. Why shouldn’t they simply express it? Because they may get some crap from the media? If they have the opportunity to show it, then why don’t they? If you’re a child of God, it IS your responsibility (not that dramatically, but putting it in your guys’ words). I don’t see why they’re an exception. And if you “want” or “don’t want” to isn’t en excuse.

  67. Couldn’t agree more Jeanie. Very valid points.

  68. Do u all think the Jonas Brothers r bad people now

    Cause they r not

  69. Ashley, be realistic. EVERY person on this planet is exposed to God in their lifetime one way or another. They will be exposed to preaching, church, news some way in their life. No, I don’t think its the media they care about at all, it’s their personal choice not to preach it. Each one of us has the opportunity to show it, do most of us. No. I know I don’t preach nor do I plan to simply because you say it’s my responsibility. They aren’t an exception, God gave us free-will and some of use it, some of us don’t.

  70. Excuse me? Did you say I was hating on people? There are no “flaws” in opinions. I still don’t see how none of you can’t see anything I’m trying to say. I’m pretty much agreeing with the fact they shouldn’t be dramatic and over-the-top about preaching, I’m just saying GIVE PEOPLE THE OPPORTUNITY, and if they want to do something with it, they will. They have more of an opportunity than most.

So STOP saying my opinion’s greatly wrong and I’m just trying to get you guys upset. Tell me what’s wrong with the last two (including this one) comments I posted.

  71. Thanks. :D I’ve had at the tip of my tongue but it couldn’t come out previously HA!

Ashley; they love EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEIR FANS…I was just looking back at my pictures from The Universal Studios Ellen episode and one of them must’ve been Muslim b/c she had the proper attire. How would she feel if they expressed their desire to spread their religion onto her…even w/out consciously knowing it? That’s what I love about the Jonas Brothers…their “politically correct” sort to say, b/c they don’t want to offend ANYONE… They’re just who they are–good boys. <3

  72. Sorry, I meant what I felt were flaws with your opinions. EVERY SINGLE PERSON BORN INTO THIS LIFE ALREADY HAS THE OPPORTUNITY.

  73. Again, the last two comments explain what I was saying. So stop telling me how wrong I am and how much it offends people, THEY SHOULDN’T BE OVER DRAMATIC, I’M AGREEING, so knock it off! Look at my other 2 comments because I’m sick of repeating myself.

“GIVE PEOPLE THE OPPORTUNITY, and if they want to do something with it, they will. They have more of an opportunity than most to do that.”

  74. Ahsley -

PLEASE drop it. “Give people the oppurtunity”
Not everyone is a Christian. I’M not a Christian. That would be like them flauting their favourite soccer shirt everywhere.

  75. ..Yeah–we gave Obama opportunity…and look now; most of those people want it back! EXACTLY THE POINT!

  76. Ashley, and I said that EVERYONE SINGLE PERSON BORN INTO THIS LIFE ALREADY HAS THE OPPORTUNITY. They shouldn’t have to be the one’s to give them that. It is each persons choice in life to have a relationship with God or not.

  77. Are you really comparing it to soccer? Like it says, “show God through your talents.” If they can, I don’t see why they won’t. Yes, not everyone is a Christian, I know that, but I really don’t see what that has to do with the quote I just said.

  78. Ahsley-

I don’t understand what you’re saying when you say “Give People the Opportunity”. The opportunity for what? To believe in God?

  79. Ashley – One and for all, it’s NOT THEIR RESPONSIBILITY to expose anyone to their beliefs. Why are you so stuck on thinking that? Because they are famous? Do you believe others who are also famous or admired should do the same? Other musicians or actors? Hey why stop there – why not the president?

Personally, I think your opinion has alot of flaws. You seem to put too much responsibility on these guys. I look to the Jonas Brothers to enterain me. That’s all.

  80. I believe that we are ALL God’s children, whether we are Christians or not. It’s not like God would hate the boys if they didn’t preach about their faith in public, because HE doesn’t hate them or any of us.

  81. Their father was a past minister. He (and their mother) raised them right. Do unto those as you would want to be treated. They just want to be music and not be responsible for it. It was their father’s job. The job they want is to share music. It’s wonderful they want to do that. Let them. We know about their religion and their purity rings. I think that’s enough decent exposure to their personal lives of Christianity b/c look at how many {young} people know our being devoted to their religion? They have done enough… Music is a powerful spiritual effect that involves every aspect of a every being.

  82. Ashley, they’ve had songs before that have God in them. Just an ex, Eternity & ALBL.

  83. *sticks fingers in ears*

LA LA LA CAN’T HEAR YOU GUYS!

  84. They should show God through their talents. I’m not saying “be a Christian band.” But if they have the opportunity to show a large mass of people about Christianity, they should use it. And Jacob, just like other Christians, they SHOULD be willing to expose it. But again, I’m not saying go to dramatics here.

  85. jerseygirl, E.X.A.C.T.L.Y! :).

  86. So you basically believe that every actor, musician, president, anyone else in the public eye that has a large mass (it sounds a bit like a cult the way you worded that) of people should preach, correct? Regardless of how subtle or dramatic.

  87. Nick said “metaphors” they’re learning to use…GREAT. SO EVERYONE CAN RELATE TO THEIR MUSIC. THEY WANT EVERYONE TO RELATE IN A GENERAL SENSE: THE GENERAL SEND THAT WE’RE ALL HUMAN AND ENJOY, TO A DEGREE, MUSIC. I’m done.

Ahsley..tweet the boys. Maybe they’ll answer you. If you’re still ignorant about their response, maybe you have yet found yourself in your religion.

    End.

  88. Ashley -

Go follow Heidi Montag on Twitter if you believe in that so much.

    CASE CLOSED!

  89. STOP PUTTING WORDS IN MY MOUTH. I NEVER said God wouldn’t appreciate them more, you guys are HORRIBLE to think that. And stop saying I’m such a flaw, all of you are just making up excuses. I’m sick of having to repeat myself, then you just repeat what you said in different words and try to make yourselves look so mighty. I’m not WRONG in this situation. And I’m NOT repeating myself again just so you guys can and try to come off as the bigger person.

  90. AGAIN, I DIDN’T SAY CHANGE MUSIC GENRES. So don’t just end it because you feel you’re so right in this conversation, I can’t believe none of you would admit I’m at least a little right just because you’re so sure of yourselves. You’re all completely selfish because all you want to do is prove me wrong without admitting for one minute, I may have an ounce of truth in me.

  91. Ashley, I’m not trying to come “off” as a bigger person. Get some confidence, it sounds like your lacking. I never put words in you mouth, that’s why I asked it as a question. I didn’t say you were a flaw, I just have an opinion that your opinions on this matter have some major flaws. Your not WRONG, but your not RIGHT.

  92. You sure did and if you look at previous comments, there’s quotes. So stop trying to defend yourself for something you clearly showed above.

  93. ..Hun, I have to leave anyways-I can’t be fighting about this all day..but think about it. IF there is all these many ppl SAYING what they think is up, maybe you should think that there actually might be a “flaw” in what you’re saying…Just think about it

  94. Give me these quotes of mine. I don’t see anywhere where I intentionally shoved words into your mouth.

It looks to me like you just need to take a break and relax. Your getting worked up and starting to be very dramatic.

  95. *bashes head on table*

  96. Hun…The Bible says love everyone; “love thy neighbor. The JB decide to take this term to a broader sense in appreciating everyone and not wanting to offend and make others feel the least bit bad or sad.

  97. Well Ashley sorry, but no I will not admit you are even a little bit right because I don’t think you are.

You are entitled to your opinion though. Sorry that the Jonas Brothers have let you down so much. If they don’t behave the way you think they should, I guess you can find a band that lives up to your social responsibility standards.

    Good luck with that.

  98. Charlotte, haha.

Ashley, I would seriously take Jeanie’s comment to heart. Just something to consider.

  99. No, I’m not giving up on this. Just because people say it’s “right,” doesn’t mean it is. Just like if they’re so many girls taking pictures of themselves provocatively, doesn’t make it normal or okay. And really, the pet names are childish and annoying.

  100. LOL Charlotte. My head exploded a few minutes ago.

  101. jerseygirl, I love you, LOL. :)

  102. Ashley, fine. Don’t expect people to give in and say that your right or admit that you are. It seems to me like most of us agree that we don’t agree with you. No it doesn’t make it right but don’t compare two completely different things.

  103. Very dramatic? And maybe you shouldn’t think about yourself Jacob, maybe you should look to other comments to see these words shoved in my mouth. It’s not like I don’t like them, all I said was that they shouldn’t be ashamed to admit to the media (and no, I’m not talking about the purity rings). Stop making me sound like I’m this strict person who only abides by certain rules, you guys blew me way too much out of proportion to make me look like a psycho Jonas hater, which I’m not.

  104. Why shouldn’t I compare it, it’s exactly what’s going on right now, whether you care to admit it or not.

  105. …especially when it’s about provocativeness…@@’ I gotta leave. IT was a nice chat w/ everyone though! :D I can definitely agree…everyone has strong beliefs! That’s GREAT!

  106. LOL Jacob. But will you love me regardless of my religious beliefs? ;)

  107. Yes, very dramatic. Not sure what I wasn’t clear on.

I haven’t seen any words SHOVED into your mouth. I’ve seen people give you their opinions, that’s it. Did they ever say they were afraid to put it out in the media, making assumptions make you look daft to be honest. If I made you come off of as a strict person then that’s probably what you come across to me as.

  108. –Just remember; everyone practices their religion their own way–that’s what makes us unique human beings. :)

  109. ..Just like the Jonas Brother

  110. Jeanie, I agree. Having a strong opinion is AMAZINGLY GREAT. Even if they are vastly different.

jerseygirl, I WILL actually love you regardless of your religious beliefs. My sister is an atheist and I love her every bit as much as much as I do any other Christian.

  111. The last time I checked the Jonas Brothers were musicians. They are not preachers.

Why should they have to express their Christianity? These boys are famous for their music. Not for their religion.

  112. HA. Look at my millions of comments where it clearly says “shoved in mouth” or something relating to that. And I’m saying if they don’t, then the only explanation I can see is fear of being insulted, not because “it’s not their responsibility,” if you’re a growing Christian, it is a responsibility to express it.

And I wouldn’t have been dramatic if all of you didn’t push me to be.

  113. *shh*, did she leave everyone? LOL, jk jk.

  114. Really mature. I would love to see the day you leave. And are you really a guy or a girl, curiosity playing here.

  115. I didn’t push you to do anything. You chose to be dramatic.

No, things are never only two or one sided. People like to keep religious things to themselves, I do. No because I’m afraid of being ridiculed by others, but because my relationship to God is something very personal and private to me. Sorry if you feel it’s my responsibilities to express it. It’s not theirs either.

  116. I’m a Muslim and I strongly disagree with you Ashley. I have many Muslim friends that absolutely adore the Jonas Brothers just like me. But we wouldn’t appreciate if we went to a concert (which we did!) and the brothers suddenly talked about Christian faith.

  117. Ashley, It was a joke hence the LOL, jk jk. Take a joke, sorry if I offended you that easily, haha.

I am a guy, 16 years old. Straight, I’m guessing that would be your next question, it usually is.

  118. One question for you Ashley – how do YOU express your religious beliefs to others? What are your responsibilities as a growing Christian?

Jacob – you and I think alike. :)

  119. jerseygirl, I’m curios about this as well. If she approaches it like she has on here I can imagine she has many friends. Not because your a Christian but because of how you present yourself.

  120. curious*

  121. I’m not saying the relationship shouldn’t be private, keep your expressions and relationship private. And it seems that fear of being insulted is thrown in the mix. Would you go up to a friend in school who has no religious taste because they haven’t been told about it, and be the one to tell them about God?

Zay, I already said they shouldn’t do that. Point alrady made, so don’t bring it up.

Oh, and yeah, I was pretty calm in the beginning (don’t even try to deny that), but then people began to insult and badger me.

  122. Well I’m out too people. Wish I could say it’s been fun but I have a headache. LOL

Ashley – stop judging how others are living their lives. Focus on what YOU do and how you affect others.

  123. Please, stop everyone. Is this really necessary?

    In other words. SHUT UP.

    Kidding. I love you.

    But really. Shut up.

  124. Ashley, If someone asks me about my religion, I’ll honestly tell them. No, I’ve said this before I don’t feel it’s anyone’s responsibility to lead people to God. If they are meant to, they will one day. God has a way of making everything work even if it’s far beyond us.

  125. I express it through my writing. I post online stories, usually pretty normal. But I made a new story about religion. I did it subtly and didn’t say anything about it. People read it in my writing and chose to dig deeper on the matter. So I personally didn’t say anything, I showed it.

“Preach the gospel. Use words if you must.” Francis Asisi (I can’t spell his name.)

  126. I’m gonna vote for another out as well. I’ll leave with all in all the same words as jerseygirl. Don’t worry about others, worry about how you live your life and how if affects other. Don’t be critical of others if you can’t handle others being critical of you.

  127. God works in mysterious ways. He could use you to change that one person’s life, just let Him. And in some cases, that could be by simply approaching someone about it. If they don’t want to talk about it, then fine. But at least you tried.

  128. God works in mysterious ways. He could use you to change that one person’s life, just let Him. And in some cases, that could be by simply approaching someone about it. If they don’t want to talk about it, then fine. But at least you tried, and that’s all that matters.

  129. Jonas today in Monterrey woot woot

  130. ..It’s raining outside.

  131. LVATT WENT GOLD!!!!!!!! :)

  132. They’re halfway through the tour already… Time FLIES!

  133. I love when how I make a point, everyone changes the subject. Really, I’m laughing right now.

  134. if the jonas brothers were like most bands, their religion wouldnt even matter or be an issue of discussion, us fans have been given too much of these guys.

who cares about their religion! they’re for entertainment purposes. no one here is their mother, so no one should be suggesting how they live their life! let them live their life and stop judging everything they do or suggest a better way of doing it.

  135. LVATT went gold!? That’s awesome. Good for them. They deserve it and worked hard to get there.

  136. Gabby, you’re way behind. I’m not going to argue an argument I already did.

  137. soundcheck -monterrey today

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NR0AUJGN0Do&feature=channel_page

  138. five more days til fresno baby! im going! :DDD

  139. guess what ashley; i dont care, i can say my opinion whenever i want! so there! yeah

  140. what the heck happened to this post?
i read the article and the comments somehow got to religion??? ppl please!! it’s a private matter and if JB wants to keep to themselves they can!! leave the poor boys alone!! everyone knows they’re Christian ok!

and ASHLEY do us ALL a favor and just shut ur trap. k? =]

  141. Okay, that’s great? Haha, that kind of made me laugh.

  142. Ashley -

I can’t hold it in anymore. Just GTFO PLEASE.

  143. Shut my trap on my opinion and everyone telling me I’m wrong? No, I’m not going to sit back and let everyone badger me without my own defense. And please, this was over a while ago.

  144. carrie ftw!haha :)

  145. rosa- I think Joe’s done with his costumes =[. he hasn’t worn one in like a week =[. I kinda got excited every day wondering what Joe would be.

  146. actually it’s been less than a week sorry!

  147. lets talk about the jonas brothers :)

  148. I MISS THE COSTUMES!

    Sad panda.

  149. Charlotte- I think he would’ve made a good panda=]

  150. Then stop giving me reasons to come back.

  151. GABBY – couldn’t agree with u more =] let’s change the subject everybody!! =D soo….how was last night’s concert? did anyone go?

  152. Ashley, okay. Your the one who was whining that people just changed the subject. Yet, you rip someone’s head off for giving their opinion. Last time I checked, you didn’t have the power to control when people could voice their opinion.s

Please do us all a favor and go away. You’ve voiced your opinion loud and clear, we all know your opinion and you know ours.

Soooo, did anyone go to the concert last night? How was it!? I don’t think I’ll be able to go to any this summer :(.

  153. Would you stop? Obviously if someone says something bad about me, I’ll defend myself. Otherwise, I don’t care about what you say or talk about.

  154. WHOA NOW! I DON’T THINK SO! There is not going to be arguin on this site. This is not some teenie site where you can bash each other you want to do that take it somewhere else. I go on twitter finally after I have been busy all day long & I got a @reply telling me ppl are arguing. I don’t know what started this and I am not taking the time out of my day to read through this childish behavior. BUT IT BETTER STOP OR I WILL BAN YOU FROM THE SITE.

thank you and have a great weekend :)

  155. Bella, sorry. I should have quit the arguing a long time ago. Too opinionated for my own good sometimes. I’ll try and make sure it never happens again.

  156. Gold? That’s terrific! congrats to the bros!

  157. Bella – sorry. But just for the record – some of us we’re discussing; while some were arguing. :)

  158. “…but no one’s selling 10 million records anymore. The internet has taken a very huge turn in music…” That had me thinking DEEP for like 5 minutes, LOL. I completely agree though, sales in music are constantly changing, the way people buy music, and lots of people don’t even pay for music anymore. It’s just illegal downloading nowadays. I kind of prefer having a CD in my hand though…I like reading through those little book thingys. :D

  159. They are simply, amazing!

    I love JB!

    :)
    Courtney.

  160. Eliza, that is so true really. The internet hasn’t ruined many industries but its made some EXTREMELY hard to make profit on. For instance, in the business of photography. Micro-stock agencies have had a negative effect on photography business. Why hire a photographer and pay 2-8K when you can find the image for 1.00. Micro-stock is so popular that it kills me to say this but I’m considering going through some while supporting Macro-stock as well.

It sucks really bad for musicians, I’ve never gotten why people say they like a band, then turn around and download their songs illegally. That is NOT supporting them.

  161. Courtney, your comment are funny, haha. Their always basically the same thing. It’s good to read! :)

  162. I know you weren’t all arguing, but i just had to make sure it stopped before someone got offended.

  163. Kevins right last year ALBL sold double of what LVaTT did in it’s first week people just download music illegally and it needs to stop

  164. Holy crap.
Is this now a religion topic?
I just don’t think the Jonas Brothers talk about their religion and Christian faith to the public because it’s a very HIGHLY controversial topic. Not only that, but it’s a person thing. Their main focus to the public/fans is the music, not religion :-\

… I just want to know what your examples are of “Giving people the opportunity”. Like, what should they do then? They pray, the purity rings, bible studies … What else must they do in order to be the “growing Christian”.

What are we even talking about? Lol
The very first comment you said they haven’t stayed grounded. That doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with religion. It just means to stay humble and keep a good attitude.

    Ahhh D: Ha

  165. Whoopsie.
You can delete my last comment.
I didn’t even see what you said Bella.
    Sorry :-\
I stopped reading the rest 3/4 of the way through the comments because I got fed up lol.

  166. they don’t talk about their religion cause no one asks them about it

  167. Joe only got 1 answer… :(

But he made it work! Hahaha, 40…where does he get this stuff!

  168. Ok i was apart of this conversation hours ago and wow its a huge debate
We should have a debate club! LOL!
OK so thats aweosme it went gold, i heard their in mexico, i wish i was their right now then i could see them
Oh and Jacob: cool that u r a boy, most boys dont like the Jonas Brothers, so you rock!

  169. I’m sorry, this is me nitpicking, but: Ashley, your posting name is Ahsley. I don’t know if you did that on purpose or if it’s a typo, but if it’s a typo it’s driving me insane.
    ANYWAY
“I think the Beatles are the Beatles and no one can touch that.” Chew on that, haters! I can’t stand haters that hate just because JB is: Disney, Christian(let’s not start this one again), the purity-ring thing, not on drugs, or *gasp* well-mannered! It’s about the music. If they don’t like the music, whatever, but you shouldn’t hate a band just because they’re respectable.

  170. I’ve lived in Fresno my whole life and attended all the concerts they’ve had here. I even endured the little girls in the blonde wigs for the Hannah Montana concert! Haha! I can’t wait until those “40-year-olds” come back.

  171. Sorry to add to the prior debate but Ashley, honey, if 100% of the people on here disagree with you, it’s got to mean something right? Go back, think about it properly. You’re acting like the JB are pastors. They’re a band. B-A-N-D.

Now, just stfu and leave because whether you think so or not, you are acting like a brat.

    :)

  172. gah!! I can’t wait for this concert! It’ll be my first one ever!

  173. Aww, thanks Abbie! I love you, too!
