My best friend has had diabetes all her life, so when he announced this, it meant so much for the both of us.

i went to their amazingggg show in san diego, ca on november 15, 2008
and when nick was gonna perform a little bit longer, he said that he
was diagnosed three years ago tomorrow so november 16…we were obviously touched just by his speech but when we realized we were there basically exactly three years from that day it meant a lot and we really saw it in his face how much it affected him…i didn’t know it was 4 months later that he announced it! so proud of that boy and everything he’s done :)

Nick, you are such an inspiration for so many, esp young people, with your determination not to let this disease bring you down. Your fighting spirit gives hope to all those that have diabetes that they too can live a fullfilling life and follow their dreams. My mom has diabetes, and I bought one of Nick’s dogtags to support her. She had tears in her eyes for a while after I showed her it. =)

Nick is such an inspiration. Whenever people ask me which Jonas Brother is my favorite, I respond by saying that I love all of them equally, but if I had to choose, I would choose Nick. And that’s only because of what he does for thousands upon thousands of kids worldwide with diabetes, other fatal illnesses, or just someone going through a rough patch in their life. As Denise said in one interview, “Nick turns all of the negatives into little stepping stones and makes them all positives.”

Nick is truly a light of inspiration and hope for everyone and anyone. He really showcases the meaning of “living the dream”. =)

Happy Nick Jonas Day! Bravo for having the guts to be open about it Nick. There are other celebrities who have disorcers and diseases who don’t use it to inspire and encourage others, so the fact that a teenager did is pretty cool. :)
