Jonas Brothers Cancel Tour Date in Monterrey, Mexico

Jonas Brothers Cancel Tour Date in Monterrey, Mexico

Due to the recent series of unfortunate events in the city of Monterrey, Mexico, the Jonas Brothers, in consultation with Live Nation, have decided to cancel their upcoming concert date scheduled for October 21st at Estadio Universitario. The Jonas Brothers are grateful for the overwhelming support from their many fans in Monterrey and while they wish to apologize to everyone who planned to attend the concert, this difficult decision was made out of their great affection and concern for their loyal fans in the region.

“Our fans in Monterrey and all of Mexico are some of the best in the world,” says Kevin Jonas. “We love any opportunity we have to visit and although we won’t be able to see everyone at the moment, we hope to come back very soon.”

The Jonas Brothers are still confirmed to perform at Estadio 3 de Marzo in Guadalajara on October 23 and Foro Sol in Mexico City on October 24. Tickets for the Monterrey show can be exchanged for either of these concerts or can be refunded at the place of purchase.

Team Jonas also posted this:

Please note the October 21, 2010 concert in Monterrey, Mexico at Estadio Universitario has been cancelled. This concert will not be rescheduled; refunds are available at the point of purchase.

Additionally, please note that the date and venue for the Santiago, Chile concert have changed from November 2 to November 4 and from Estadio Nacional to Estadio Monumental. The date for Jonas Brothers’ concert in Buenos Aires, Argentina has changed from November 2 to November 13.

  1. I’m feel so sorry for the Mouterrey fans

  2. I do feel awful for all the Monterrey fans, but we have to keep in mind that there has been horrible crimes committed there. Drug wars, bombs killing people, shootings it’s just all over the news lately. I think they cancelled the concert to keep themselves and the fans safe from all of the chaos. I’m pretty sure they will understand, but JB will most likely return in the near future.

  3. Plus adding on before, I think they really shouldn’t go to Mexico AT ALL. Not to be rude, but I was just talking to my dad about the situation and he said “You’d be an idiot to go to Mexico right now it’s so dangerous down there.” It’s just been so gruesome from what I’ve seen and read on the news. Even the United States government has said for no Americans to visit Mexico because of all the violence recently, that should be one hell of a wake-up call for them. Then again I’m just stating my opinions, but if they end up going to those 2 other concerts I will be fearing for their safety..

  4. Oh c’mon, i’m from Mexico, and to all of you out there, gotta say that its not as bad as it seems!!!

I think theyre exaggerating… The drugdillers wont even pay attention to the JBs… They just have problems with the people whos involved in drugs….

News paint that more horrible than it actually is. It’s not like if a bomb were waitin for you at each corner you walk by.

    Hahahaha… It’s unbelievable!
Btw, i’m so sorry for my friends in Monterrey… :(

  5. leah

more than upset im getting really sad with your comment, i will say that before saying ANYTHING about this situation you should get informed of what is really going in here…

plz tell your dad that nothing really happens if you come here…

  6. First of all I’m from and live in Mexico and I do think that that was th smartest choice, I know people don’t want to see the truth behind all of the government desicions and I as an International Affairs student am “trained” to doubt absolutelly everything (even what jonas do) but let m just say that this “war” as the president likes to call it is not only mexico’s fault sbnce the US are the ones bringing deathly arms to the cartels as they’ve done in plenty of cases
but anyway I am not trying to offend anyone from Mexico or Usa, ’cause well I’m mexican and I have awesome american friends but as I said, It was the bst choice they could make, not only for their security but th fans too

before I leave can yuo plase hlp me
I’m trying to win an Ipod at my school can you “like” this http://tiny.cc/s4i16 and then this http://tiny.cc/i3tbu please! and could youRT

  7. It’s kind of sad that they had to cancel the show but if they didn’t feel safe doing a concert there. Well…what are we going to do?

Sorry if this offends anyone, but I find Leah’s comments a little bit ridiculous and ignorant. I live in Venezuela and we are not at our best right now. But still, The Jonas brothers went to Venezuela and nothing bad happened to them! Sure, there are some problems in Mexico right now, but it’s kind of stupid, ignorant and xenophobic to say that they (Jonas) shouldn’t go to Mexico and that no one should go to Mexico! That lack of solidarity and support is not going to help our fellow mexicans!!!

Carolina, I have good friends from Mexico and if there’s something that mexicans are known for is for being strong people who are proud of their country. (Something beautiful if you ask me!) We will be praying for all of you here in Venezuela!

To conclude, I’ll say this in Spanish:

Fuerza Monterrey y Fuerza Mexico!!! Que pronto van a salir de esta!!! Estamos con ustedes!!! VIVA MEXICO!

  8. Okay I’m sorry if I came off “ridiculous” or “ignorant” in my previous coments. I didn’t want to come off like that at all and I’m extremely sorry if I did. I may not know exactly what is happening in Mexico, and from what I’ve heard it’s pretty bad. But if it isn’t as bad as you say then I’m completely fine with them visiting their fans, you all deserve it. Alright I’m done for the night, sorry again.

  9. U know, the fans of Monterrey can exchange those tickets for the other shows in Mexico

  10. Leah I don’t know where are you from but please… Mexico isn’t as bad as it seems!!! I live in mexico CITY and in my 15 years nothing has happened to me or to anyone in my family…
you should come to Mexico to see what it is like..
the drugdillers aren’t everywhere…actually mexican drugdillers buy the drugs in th US! so please stop thinking that mexico is “insecure”

  11. It really sucks that they had to cancel the show, but it’s understandable, it’s too risky right now over there, the most part of this violence is on the north of the country, I live in Mexico City, and everything is as fine as it can be, life goes on like any other day, and I’m sure Guadalajara is the same, to be honest, is not as bad as it might seem, if you don’t involve in any of that you really dont have to worry, I don’t think they are in danger for coming over here.

  12. It’s true what Renata said, and sometimes people from the U.S. buys the drug in Mexico to sell it there. It’s a really bad situation but hey, at least Mexico isn’t as bad as we are in Venezuela. It’s a mess here! We will eventually get through all this but it’s sad to see the country you love falling to pieces! :(

Sorry if my previous comment was kind of harsh, but it makes me mad when someone labels a country as “dangeous” and “bad” without knowing the country’s situation. Sorry if I offended anyone.

  13. Sorry Leah but I disagree with u

  14. Let me just say this, I’m sick of people saying that if you don’t get involved in any of this stuff nothing will happen to you, well, MY SISTER AND FATHER went to the mall, the frigging mall and got caught in a shooting between the cartels, imagine what was it like for my sister and my dad when they were lying on the grown not knowing if they were going to go back home and us on the other line of the phone without being able to do anything. I feel ofended when people say that it only happens to people envolved.

  15. I know how you feel Ivana, my cousin was kidnapped (it was a Secuestro express to be more exact) a year ago and his family is not rich or involved with the government. Thank God they (my cousin, his brother in law and their friend) gave the people (the kidnappers) all the money they got and they let them go. He’s okay now. And a lot of my sister’s friends have been kidnapped or have been victims of thieves. So it’s true, unfortunately innocent people are victims of this kind of situations (kidnapping, organized crime, shootings, etc.) as well.

I hope that your sister and father are okay now.

  16. Loling @ Leah comment.
Well if they shouldn’t come to Monterrey/Guadalajara/MexicoCity then I’m not going out from my home.
For Christ sick, insecurity is EVERYWHERE not only in México.
Or you can tell shootings haven’t happen in the US, Canada, Europe or everywhere else??

(I don’t know if i wrote that in the right way)

  17. I live in the state of Sinaloa in Mexico, considered one of the states more insecure in my country …
is very sad that because of violence and the government that does absolutely nothing, canceled the concert in Monterrey, and that fans from other countries consider that it is better not to do any concert in Mexico, but the Mexican fans are not guilty of anything, and are an important part of the JONAS FANS … I’ve never been to any of the Jonas Brothers concert … by economic problems, but I hope the fans in Monterrey change their tickets to the concerts of Guadalajara and Mexico City

  18. i feel so bad for the monterrey fans i am going to go to the mexico city concert but in my opinion this kind of things that is happening in monterrey its because the people is afraid….. and if you cancel the concert you give mor importance to their….

    well thats my opinion

    i love jonas!!!!
